TDS is a severe long-term mental health condition. Sufferers of this condition find it difficulty to relate to their fellow citizens and are often afflicted with stress, depression, anger, isolation, hostility, anxiety, delusions, changes in behaviour, substance abuse, skepticism and fear.

There are many causes of TDS. Some primary causes involve an excessive use of technology, elective surgery, cybernetic implants and substance abuse. Typically the root cause is citizens who try to do too much and bear an unnaturally high burden.

You can help prevent TDS by being community minded, taking part in comunity activities, being caring for other citizens, helping the Peace Bureau, avoiding information sources that are not trusted, avoiding independent activities and avoiding any sort of elective use of technology not recommended by a trusted source.

Note that some backwards-thinking individuals may refer to TDS as "Techshock", this should be avoided as it is considered offensive.
