Originating in Germany Prazisionswaffentechnik (or PWT) started out as a partnership between weapons experts hailing from other firearms companies. The concept of caseless ammunition was widely held in contempt owing to the unsuccessful history and PWT was the platform for a substantial improvement in the technology, with the partners risking their future and careers on the venture.
Their skill and determination bore fruit and their first caseless rifle and proof of concept was a resounding success, with immediate military interest. Contracts poured in and PWT was rapidly scaled up to mass production to start filling orders and create new weapons for other roles.
PWT widely use advanced composites and materials in their weapons, for the purpose of being light strong and reliable. Their weapons tend to cost somewhat more than equivalent weapons from other manufacturers but the quality is undeniable.
Caseless ammunition was fraught with problems, tried and abandoned again and again in the 20th century. PWT finally developed a viable design and were awarded large military contracts to supply Western armies with their new firearms. The new ammunition saves substantial weight and bulk, allowing soldiers to travel lighter and last longer between resupplies.
Old fashioned cased weapons are still widely used owing to a massive production surplus before viable caseless weapons were brought to production by PWT.
Caseless weapons stand as the premiere general combat firearm. In most cases archaic cased weapons are only the low-budget option, however they are still used for weapons that fire a variety of ammunition types such as shotguns.
PWT have many products including military and civilian firearms and other weapons, included but not limited to the following:
